Jörg Lamster
Dipl. Ing. Architecture and Urban Design TH SIA, MAS Industrial Engineer
After completing an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Altena (Westphalia), I studied architecture in Aachen and Hamburg, graduating with a university degree. After working as an architect in offices in Hamburg, London and Zurich, I set up my own business in 2009, providing consultancy services for sustainable construction. The founding of Durable Planung und Beratung in 2012 was linked to the expansion of activities to include building physics and the desire for a team. This was followed by teaching activities and norm committee work. A major step was taken in 2020 with the sale of Durable to and simultaneous entry as a shareholder and partner at Wüest Partner AG.
I have been living in Zurich since 2002, am married and have two grown-up children and a dog. The family, cycling holidays and a choir are my matter of heart. Besides I am a member of the Board of Trustees of the Stiftung Einfach Wohnen of the City of Zurich and on the Board of Freund:innen Baumuster, Zurich.
Barbara Pataki
MSc Architect, MSc ClimaDesign
Architecture and construction have shaped my childhood, and by the age of 12, I already knew I wanted to become an architect. While still in my final year of studies in Hungary, I moved to Switzerland, and after graduating in 2013, I began my professional career at an architecture firm in Zermatt. Four years later, I decided to pursue part-time studies in sustainable construction and completed another Master’s in ClimaDesign in Munich, while living in Rapperswil SG and working as an architect. To apply my new knowledge, I joined Durable in 2018, and since then, I have been continuously working towards making the construction industry more sustainable.
In our free time, my husband and I focus on the ecological renovation of our listed home, which is a lifelong hobby. My other hobbies include jogging, yoga, hiking, and spending time with friends.

MSc Civil Engineering
My educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, followed by a practical semester in construction management. With the diverse experiences gained during this time, I specialised in building physics and sustainable construction during my Master’s in Civil Engineering. After my studies, I deepened this knowledge as a research associate at the Institute for Acoustics and Building Physics at the University of Stuttgart, where teaching and scientific research were the main focus of my work. After four years in academia, I transitioned to Durable in 2022. Since then, I have primarily focused on implementing sustainability concepts in building physics planning.
In my free time, I enjoy the short trips to the lake and mountains.
Niklaus Haller
My first house was a hut made from old cupboard doors on the shores of Lake Wohlen - a wonderful refuge for a 10-year-old. During my exchange from EPFL to TU Berlin, as students we converted a shack into a day-care centre with Pippi Longstocking's lemonade tree - budget €80,000. After graduating as an architect from ETH, I took on my first project management role for the complete refurbishment of ETH HPZ into an emission-free building. My interest was aroused and so I spent my subsequent doctorate and the following decade building bridges between architecture, solar technology, product development, teaching and politics. I have been contributing this experience to the Durable team since mid-2022.
I now realise my own craft whenever possible with a ReUse construction trailer project on the Baltic Sea and a family with three children also brings a lot of variety to life.
Anita Ni
MSc RWTH Environmental Engineering, CAS Circular Building
After completing a volunteer service with a human rights organisation in Frankfurt am Main, I began studying Environmental Engineering in Aachen in 2014. A stay in Egypt and witnessing the local waste situation motivated me to specialise in recycling later on. During my master’s studies, I worked on a research project focused on recycling and construction. At the same time, I was involved in student initiatives, which eventually led to the founding of an association in Aachen. During my year abroad at ETH Zurich, I was able to further expand my experiences in making universities more sustainable, and in 2021/22 I passed this knowledge on to others as a coach for the association 'netzwerk n.' My extracurricular engagement taught me to see sustainable development in all its complexity. That’s why I decided to start my career at Durable, where, unlike in recycling, I am involved in design processes from the early stages.
In Zurich, I am active in food sharing, enjoy cooking, or can often be found cycling.
