Research project as part of the BFE programme ‘Buildings and Cities’
In a team with Wüest Partner and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), we have been awarded a contract for a research project tendered by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy as part of the ‘Buildings and Cities’ programme.
Together with project partners from the public sector (Canton of Basel City, City of Zurich, Canton of St. Gallen) and institutional partners, we will develop a vademecum that provides answers to the successful implementation of the preservation of existing buildings in the context of the internal densification of settlement areas. Exploration of an innovation topic
Founding and management of the SIA's social sustainability track group
The SIA Commission for Sustainability and the Environment KNU aims to explore the relevance and potential of social sustainability for the SIA's products and has therefore launched a social sustainability steering group. The group is made up of experts from the fields of teaching and research, planning, urban planning, non-profit and institutional building owners and the public sector.
The steering group is examining the need for a guideline as a low-threshold SIA product. The guidelines could later be used to produce information sheets and standards.

Management and teaching activities CAS Strategic Renewal of Building Stock
From 2016 to 2023, Jörg Lamster took over the management and a large part of the teaching activities in the CAS Strategic Renewal of Building Stock at the Lucerne School of Engineering & Architecture.
The course, which was first held in 2011 and originally developed by the CCTP, was adapted to the latest content and methods during this time. The focus is now on strategy development and the preservation of existing buildings. Methods such as SIA 112/1, circular economy and variant comparisons are part of the course content.
